How Important are Signatures On Artwork
Although a signature is not the only measure of value for a piece of animation art, it is definitely a bonus when available. It is unusual to find signatures on animation artwork produced prior to the 1970's. Production art rarely carried any identification other than production or scene numbers. Over the years, as collectors became interested in the art, studio animation artists and directors became well-known figures.
