Search Tips & Suggestions

The animation, usa™ search engine can assist you in locating artwork on animationusa.com. The following information provides helpful guidelines for using the search engine to find your favorite characters and productions.

We are adding current and new products to the new search engine database regularly, so please visit often.

Title Searches

If you know words in the exact Title of a particular work of art, enter the main words of the title in the Search Field. Often, 'less is more' with search engines. For example: you may not remember the complete Title of a work of art titled 'What's Opera, Doc?', but you remember that 'Opera' is one of the words... entering just that word will locate any edition with that word in the title. Entering just 'Bugs Bunny' will generate a list for you of all of the editions featuring Bugs Bunny in the title.

Description & Character Searches

When you select 'Description' for your search, you can enter the name of the character (ie 'Bugs Bunny' or 'Mickey Mouse') which will usually find all works of art in which that character's name appears in the description. Artwork is referenced by its descriptive information about the image, usually including the names of characters which appear in the edition. If you are trying to locate artwork with specific character combinations (ie 'Bugs and Daffy'), simply type the two character names in the Search Field separated by a comma, and select 'Description'...this will find artwork in which the two characters names are both in the description.

Search By Medium

Entering a medium (ie 'limited edition', 'sericel' or 'lithograph') will typically find all works of art that match that medium. Artwork may be referenced in the Search Engine Database by more than one medium, such as 'Production Cel & Matching Drawing'. Here are some of the mediums that match art and collectibles on animationusa.com:

Production Cel
Production Drawing
Hand-painted Limited Edition
Limited Edition Sericel
Limited Edition Serigraph
Limited Edition Lithograph

Keyword Search

Entering a keyword or theme (ie 'bowling', 'western' or 'music') will usually find works of art which contain that word in its descriptive information. Artwork is referenced in the Search Engine Database by its key Title words, descriptive information about the artwork, characters, artist/studio and themes. This information typically includes the 'Studio Name' and/or 'Artists Name', the category of art (ie 'Limited Edition', 'Lithograph', 'Poster' or 'Sericel') and if it is 'Signed', the 'Character Names' and, if applicable, theme information. For example: entering 'Bowling' as your keyword will find any work of art with the word bowling in the title or description. Entering 'Flintstones Bowling' will find only artwork which contains the words Flintstones and bowling as part of its description.
