Limited Edition Cel

A limited edition cel is a hand-painted work of art recreating a moment in animation or an artists creation. The characters are hand-painted onto the reverse side of the cel - often using the original drawings or other art from the film - and combined with a lithographic background recreating the scene in the original cartoon. Since virtually all of the original animation cels and drawings from prior to 1970 were destroyed, limited editions are often the only way to collect these memorable and classic moments in animation history.
